Vision Hotel
The design of Vision Hotel for the Royal Group, a four star, 120-bed, mid market business hotel in Shymkent with two restaurants, a bar, lounge and a business centre sets a benchmark for hospitality delivery in Kazakhstan.
The simple form of the eight storey building and repetitive structural grid is designed to allow a high level of prefabrication (bedroom pods) for speed of construction, and cost and quality control. Its contemporary style is reflected in the facade design, an insulated metal cladding system of simple panels within inset glazing.
At ground level the reception and public areas are defined by a steel framed, aluminium faced pedestrian and vehicle canopy and thin frame glazing across the frontage maximising the levels of natural light internally and creating a link to the external environment and terraced cafe area beyond. At night, glazing on the eighth level, concealing plant, will light up 'crowning' the hotel.
