Bristol Indoor Arena
Clarke Bond was appointed lead consultant for the proposed 10,500-seat indoor arena part of the 46ha regeneration of Temple Quarter. Working alongside the client (SWRDA & Bristol City Council) our team developed the project from feasibility through masterplanning and cost planning to selection of the operator of the site.
The project (now abandoned) involved the redevelopment of a derelict railway yard adjacent to the Grade I listed Temple Meads railway station in the centre of the city. As project managers Clarke Bond led the whole design team developing proposals and addressing the key issues of the scheme; site access, transport planning, land viability (completing a multi-million pound remediation scheme), the proposed commercial mix and cost planning. The designs would have created a major entertainment and cultural venue for the south west of England including a casino, hotel, leisure facilities and residential scheme.
