Wolverhampton Heart & Lung Centre

Located on the campus site of New Cross Hospital, this new unit, opened in 2004, provides an integrated service of surgical and cardiological treatment of cardiac and lung disease.

Constructed as a four storey in situ reinforced concrete frame, the project included a major pre-enabling works contract for the demolition of an existing building, a cut and fill to create a large flat earthworks plateau, re-routing of the hospital access road and an extension to the hospitals primary buried service and tugway routes.

The elevation was design to support system for a combination of finishes – fair-faced brickwork, patent glazing, specialist aluminium cladding and curtain walling.
