Waitrose
The successful design and construction of this new store in Portishead led to Clarke Bond's contribution to the John Lewis Continual Improvement Group - providing input to the development of a set of standards for future stores, and subsequently designing two further stores in Wallingford and Mill Hill.
This new store near Bristol provides 4.600m2 of retail space, administration areas and warehouse across two levels on a fomer railway siding.
Located next to a marina on the Bristol Channel a flood risk assessment led to a design of the site levels to direct potential flood waters away from the store and and a car park with flooding storage capacity.
